Orleans Dentist Discusses the Upcoming Annual Spring Meeting Happening in Toront

Apr 08, 2013

OTTAWA, ON -- The first weekend in May dentists from the Canadian Dental Association and the Ontario Dental Association congregate in Toronto for the Annual Spring Meeting. The meeting takes place in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and features many sessions on innovations in the cosmetic and general dentistry field.

Orleans dentist Dr. David Bartos and his partner Dr. Mark Northcott at Orleans dental clinic are excited by the new products to be displayed as well as the many continuing education courses offered. Their practice at Trillium Dental offers teeth bleaching, porcelain veneers and dental implants in Nepean to restore and improve smiles.

Dentists can laugh heartily at comedian Rick Mercer of The Rick Mercer Report when he starts off the event on May 2. The day is then filled with courses in Infection Control, Medical Emergency, Oral Medicine and Pathology, Pharmacology and Periodontics. Attendees can gain 18 continuing education points during the ASM. The meeting is also open to hygienists, office managers, dental assistants and receptionists. That night dentists can get to know each other at the cocktail reception.

Dentists can attend the following lectures, plus many more:

  • Mastering Adhesive and Restorative Dentistry
  • The Happy Dentist
  • Practical Update in Pediatric Dentistry
  • Sleep Apnea and What Dentists Can Do
  • Creating Wealth and Security with a Financial Plan

The ASM organizers are releasing a smartphone app to help attendees find all the exhibits and lectures they wish to attend. This will help attendees navigate the busy ASM schedule. The list of exhibitors is comprehensive, including Impact Dental Labs, Aerostatic Technology Canada, Water Pik, Inc., Nobel Biocare and Specialty Dental. There are also fun and leisurely exhibits such as handwriting analysis and complimentary massages.

At night ASM attendees can discover the magic of Toronto. They can sightsee at the CN Tower, become art critics at the Art Gallery of Toronto, stroll through Queen's Park and get cultured at Canon Theatre. Some attendees will enjoy roaming the artsy districts for live music and dancing.

The ASM is sure to be a fun-filled time complete with lots of information to improve a dental practice and enhance the patient experience.
